Wichmann & Co was never part of a grand business plan. It started with a single idea that refused to stay quiet.

On my way to work one day, I had the idea for a book. What began as a simple thought quickly turned into something I couldn’t ignore. I started writing whenever I could, even during long shifts in 911 dispatch, just to get the story out of my head and onto paper.

But writing the book was only the beginning.

When I started looking into publishing options, I quickly realized something didn’t sit right with me. The terms, the lack of control, and the way authors were often treated like just another number didn’t align with what I believed the process should be. This was someone’s story. Someone’s work. It deserved better.

So I made a decision. If the right path didn’t exist, I would build it myself.

Wichmann & Co was created with the original intention of publishing my own books and bringing a few creative ideas to life. But something unexpected happened. Friends started reaching out, asking if I could help them do the same. One project turned into another, and before I knew it, this had grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

I didn’t expect to find a path where I could use everything I had built over the years. Speaking six languages. A background in graphics. A natural strength for organization and structure. Yet somehow, all of it came together here.

Today, Wichmann & Co is a hybrid publishing company built on the belief that authors should feel proud, supported, and in control of their work. Every book we publish is a collaboration, where the author keeps their rights and their voice, while we guide them step by step through the process.

There is nothing quite like watching an idea turn into a finished book. Seeing an author hold their work in their hands for the first time never gets old. It is a moment filled with pride, emotion, and a sense of accomplishment that is hard to put into words.

That is why this company exists.
